Middle East Tensions: Israel's Stern Warning to Houthi Militants
Israel warns Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi militants to cease missile attacks, threatening severe repercussions similar to those faced by Hamas, Hezbollah, and Assad. Despite the warning, Israeli defenses intercept a missile from Yemen, and the Houthis declare continued aggression. The UN urges restraint to prevent regional destabilization.
Israel issued a stark warning to Yemen's Houthi militants on Monday, demanding an end to their missile attacks. Ambassador Danny Danon emphasized the risk of the Houthis facing consequences akin to those of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Syria's Assad. He warned, "Israel will not tolerate any proxy wars."
Hours after this warning, the Israeli military reported intercepting a missile launched from Yemen, triggering nationwide alerts. Mohamed Ali al-Houthi, a leading figure within the Houthi movement, declared the continuation of hostilities against Israel in solidarity with Gaza.
As conflict escalates, the UN and international leaders call for restraint, cautioning against further military escalation that could jeopardize regional stability and exacerbate humanitarian crises.
