In a recent statement, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan urged the new Syrian administration to assume control over Islamic State camps and prisons. Fidan emphasized the importance of transferring responsibility to the local government.
During a meeting with his Belgian counterpart, Fidan highlighted Ankara's readiness to support Syria in this initiative, aiming to ensure better management of these facilities.
Fidan also called for the repatriation of foreign Islamic State militants currently imprisoned in Syria, insisting that countries of origin should reclaim their nationals.
