The All India Kisan Congress, the farmer wing of the Congress party, announced its upcoming action to support farmers and laborers in Uttar Pradesh. Named 'Kisan-Mazdoor Samman Evam Nyay Yatra', the yatra will commence on January 18, as declared by the party on Friday.
During a key preparatory meeting at Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters, led by state unit chief Ajay Rai, accusations were leveled against central and state governments for their alleged neglect of farmers' issues. Specific attention was called to the unfulfilled promise regarding the legal guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP).
The yatra will be coordinated at both national and district levels, covering each district under experienced guidance. A unique aspect involves selecting 300 'Kisan Nyay Yodhas' within each district, fueling advocacy momentum. The initiative will culminate in a grand conference drawing participants from all districts, ultimately planning for a large-scale event with over 1,20,900 Kisan Yodhas before the 2027 assembly elections.
