Shri Giriraj Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Textiles, inaugurated Indie Haat at the National Crafts Museum and Hastkala Academy, celebrating India's rich textile and handicraft traditions. Speaking at the event, he emphasized that Indie Haat is not just an exhibition but a vibrant celebration of India’s artistic heritage. Through this platform, artisans and weavers are being directly connected with global markets, furthering economic empowerment and preserving traditional craftsmanship.
Indie Haat 2025, which runs from February 12 to 18, 2025, is designed to offer a comprehensive glimpse into India’s rich legacy of handmade textiles and crafts, drawing attention to traditional artistry on an international stage. This event features 85 artisans and weavers from across India, representing a diverse range of craft traditions and showcasing over 80 different types of handcrafted and handwoven products. The crafts on display include Gulabi Minakari, Tarkasi craft, Mithila painting, black pottery, Chamba Rumal, Punjabi Jutti, Kalamkari painting, Bidri craft, Bastar Dhokra, Gujarat Suf embroidery, Kutch Ajrakh hand block printing, Aranmula metal mirror, and many more. The textile showcase includes Paithani sarees, Tussar silk sarees, Jamdani sarees, Pashmina shawls, Muga silk sarees, Uppada Jamdani, Maheshwari sarees, and even handloom yoga mats, reinforcing India’s reputation as a global leader in textile heritage.
Indie Haat 2025 and Bharat Tex 2025 – Strengthening India’s Global Craft Presence
Indie Haat is seamlessly integrated with Bharat Tex 2025, one of the world’s largest textile events, scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from February 14 to 17, 2025. To enhance global exposure, 30 artisans from Indie Haat will be conducting live craft demonstrations at Bharat Mandapam, showcasing their intricate craftsmanship to international buyers, policymakers, and industry leaders.
Bharat Tex 2025 will feature a massive 2.2 million square feet exhibition space, hosting over 5,000 exhibitors and attracting more than 6,000 international buyers from 110+ countries. The event is expected to draw over 120,000 visitors, including global CEOs, policymakers, and industry stakeholders, positioning India as a pivotal hub for textile and handicraft trade on the global stage.
To maximize engagement, the Indie Haat e-invite has been integrated into the official buyer kit, ensuring broad international outreach. Additionally, extensive promotional activities are being conducted throughout Bharat Mandapam to attract global participants and foster meaningful collaborations between artisans and industry leaders.
A Special Initiative to Promote Artisans and Weavers
Indie Haat 2025 is a special initiative organized by the Office of the Development Commissioners (Handicrafts & Handlooms) in collaboration with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). This partnership ensures that India’s finest craftsmanship is presented in a contemporary and engaging manner, making it accessible to both traditional connoisseurs and modern buyers.
