India is actively collaborating with the United States to ensure the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, accused of being involved in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, according to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. This announcement followed US President Donald Trump's official approval to transfer Rana to India for trial.

In a joint press conference held at the White House, President Trump confirmed his administration's approval of Rana's extradition, labeling him as a 'very evil' individual. The decision is part of a broader commitment by both countries to counter global terrorism and eradicate terrorist safe havens.

India and the US reaffirmed their resolve to cooperate against terrorist threats from groups such as Al-Qaeda, ISIS, and Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, while urging Pakistan to take prompt action against the perpetrators of attacks on Indian soil. Rana, currently detained in Los Angeles, awaits extradition procedures following the US Supreme Court's rejection of his appeal earlier this year.
