Operation Kavach: A Crackdown on Narco-Offenders Across the City
Operation Kavach 7.0, led by the Crime Branch, targeted narco-offenders and illegal activities in the city. Over 700 locations were raided, resulting in 90 narco-offender arrests, seizure of drugs, and action against illegal arms and liquor trade. The operation also addressed illegal tobacco sales near schools.

The Crime Branch has launched a comprehensive crackdown on illegal activities in the city with Operation Kavach 7.0. Spanning 784 locations, the operation led to the arrest of 90 narco-offenders and the seizure of substantial drug quantities, Special Commissioner of Police Devesh Chandra Srivastva informed.
In addition to drugs, law enforcement addressed illegal arms and liquor trade, resulting in 161 arrests and the recovery of nearly 33,000 contraband liquor bottles. Weapons seized included one revolver, six country-made pistols, and multiple knives.
A widespread preventative effort, Kavach also saw 909 individuals taken into preventive custody. Additional actions included gambling arrests and prosecutions for illegal tobacco sales near educational institutions. Launched in May 2023, Kavach remains an ongoing effort against street-level peddlers and high-profile traffickers.
