The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is undertaking a significant reshuffle, as 1,500 employees are set to relocate from Washington, according to two informed sources.
In a bid to decentralize operations, 1,000 of these staffers will be reassigned to field offices nationwide, while 500 will head to Huntsville, Alabama. This move comes on the heels of Kash Patel's confirmation as FBI Director, a Trump appointee bringing new directives.
Patel's leadership marks a pivotal shift in the FBI and the Justice Department, challenging long-standing traditions and aligning with core priorities of the Trump administration. Since Trump's inauguration, a reported 75 seasoned DOJ and FBI officials have left or been dismissed.
