Security Sweep: Anti-Terror Operations Intensify Across Jammu Region

Security forces have initiated comprehensive anti-terror operations across nearly three dozen locations in Jammu region, responding to suspicious movements and undertaking area dominance exercises. No contact with terrorists has been made yet. Operations are focused on Poonch and Rajouri, among other districts, targeting forested and higher terrain areas.

In a concerted effort to clamp down on potential terrorist activities, security forces have launched expansive anti-terror operations spanning almost three dozen sites across the Jammu region. This initiative, which is a response to suspicious movements and is part of a wider area domination exercise, remains ongoing with no direct contact with terrorists reported as of yet, officials confirmed.

The operations are concentrated in the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri, as well as in the mountainous areas of the Udhampur-Kathua belt, Doda, Kishtwar, and the forests surrounding the Line of Control in Jammu district. These efforts are in response to intelligence indicating potential threats, as last night two suspected foreign terrorists were reportedly seen in Poonch district's Maidaan Mohalla area under the cover of darkness.

In addition to targeted sweeps in specific urban and forested sectors, search operations are ongoing in multiple locations across Poonch-Rajouri and the higher reaches of other districts, with a keen focus on the Khaderan forest. Enhanced vigilance continues in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu district, covering Keri, Bhattal, and adjoining areas.
