Additional sessions judge Twinkle Wadhwa dismissed the defence's argument, which claimed the absence of external injuries in the victim's medical report. The court emphasized that internal trauma and pain can be significant without visible marks, especially in cases involving acid.

The victim's detailed and consistent testimony played a crucial role in the conviction. Despite attempts to undermine her credibility, the court upheld her statements, leading to the convictions of her husband and in-laws under Sections 326A and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. Sentencing arguments are scheduled for March 12.
