The incident surfaced when residents from a village in the Jagdishpur police station area alerted authorities to a prayer meeting conducted on the second floor of a house. The gathering reportedly involved Christian missionary activities and offered enticements for conversion.
Musafirkhana Deputy Superintendent of Police Atul Kumar Singh stated that a police raid resulted in several detentions of individuals for questioning. Key evidence, including books related to religious conversions, was seized. The accused have been charged under the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, with further investigations actively ongoing.
