The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, announced that a request has been sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the Noida International Airport at Jewar on March 28. Speaking at an event, Adityanath highlighted the substantial expansion of air connectivity in Uttar Pradesh.
Currently, the state boasts 16 domestic and four international airports, with a fifth international airport underway at Jewar. The airport is anticipated to significantly enhance the state's economy by generating approximately Rs 1 lakh crore in revenue and boosting connectivity in the region.
The airport, being developed under a public-private partnership model, is part of a greenfield project aimed at improving connectivity within the National Capital Region, western Uttar Pradesh, and beyond. It will feature modern amenities and a capacity to handle substantial passenger and cargo volumes, emphasizing sustainability in its operations.
