Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan presided over crucial security meetings on Sunday, emphasizing the need to intensify anti-terrorist operations in Jammu and Kashmir as summer approaches. Sources indicated the goal is to neutralize threats and maintain peace.
The meetings included top officials from the Army, BSF, Police, NIA, Paramilitary Forces, and intelligence agencies. This followed the recovery of three bodies in the Kathua district, highlighting ongoing security challenges.
Discussion topics included securing the Kashmir railway line, soon to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and preparations for the 38-day Amarnath pilgrimage starting July 3. Senior officials, including Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva and BSF's Daljit Singh Chawdhary, were in attendance.
