Madhya Pradesh Budget Session Sparks Controversy

The Budget Session of the Madhya Pradesh assembly kicked off on Monday with Governor Mangubhai Patel spotlighting state government initiatives aimed at benefiting farmers, youth, and women, alongside plans for river linking projects.

Governor Patel announced plans for the distribution of 30 lakh solar pumps to farmers in the next three years and permanent electricity connections at an affordable rate, as part of welfare schemes aimed at boosting agricultural productivity.

Following the Governor's address, tributes were paid to several departed leaders, including former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. However, the session was marred by protests from Congress over the short duration and accusations against the BJP government for evading discussions on public issues.
