In a significant diplomatic development, Russia's foreign ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova announced that communications with the U.S. administration are becoming increasingly active. This revitalization marks a key shift in the bilateral relations of these powerful nations.

Zakharova noted that embassies from both countries, alongside diplomats, have stepped up their contacts. This follows a recent agreement between Russia and the United States to work towards mending an often strained relationship as well as seeking an end to the war in Ukraine.

The renewed diplomatic push came in the wake of a momentous phone call on February 12, between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump. The leaders expressed mutual willingness to initiate peace talks and resolve ongoing tensions in Ukraine.
