Germany Conducts Raids Against Eritrea-Linked Network

In a coordinated effort across six German states, police launched raids targeting a group linked to efforts to overthrow the Eritrean government. The group, labeled as the German branch of the terrorist organization Brigade N'Hamedu, has drawn the attention of Germany's federal prosecutor's office.

Authorities accuse 17 suspects of either founding or having membership in this group. Since its establishment in 2022, the group has allegedly incited violence at events associated with the Eritrean government. Recent incidents occurred during Eritrea festivals in Giessen and at an association seminar in Stuttgart, injuring numerous police officers.

No arrests have been made despite extensive searches across 19 properties in Germany and a simultaneous operation in Denmark. Separate legal actions have taken place in Sweden, where six people were sentenced for violent protests connected to an Eritrean cultural festival.
