In response to rising tensions in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, authorities have implemented stringent safety measures to prevent accidents during namaz gatherings, officials confirmed on Thursday.
The move follows violence last November in Kot Garvi, which led to multiple casualties and injuries. Top officials clarified that while traditional namaz can continue at designated Eidgahs and mosques, rooftop and road gatherings are prohibited.
Sambhal's Superintendent of Police, Krishna Kumar Bishnoi, emphasized the deployment of armed constabulary across strategic locations to maintain order and prevent large congregations. A newly inaugurated police post aims to strengthen law enforcement in the unrest-prone area.
