In a significant move, Pune police have proposed the dismissal of two officers to the Maharashtra home department following their suspension linked to a Porsche crash investigation. The officers are accused of late reporting and mishandling the case.
The crash, involving a 17-year-old alleged drunk driver, resulted in the death of two motorcycle riders and sparked national outrage due to alleged evidence tampering, including swapping blood samples to interfere with alcohol testing.
The juvenile involved has since been released, while several other individuals, including the driver's parents and hospital staff, are currently in jail as the investigation continues to unfold.
