In a heated response to recent Indian military strikes, Pakistan's National Security Council has authorized retaliation, choosing the time and manner of their response. The strikes by India, aimed at nine targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, have been labeled by Pakistan as a clear violation of international law.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired an emergency National Security Council meeting, which included senior government and military officials. The council has condemned India's actions, describing them as unprovoked and illegal acts of war, and called on the international community to hold India accountable for its actions.
The strikes have resulted in the loss of 26 lives and injuries to 46 individuals. The Pakistani government has denied claims of harboring terrorist camps and has offered to allow an impartial investigation into the allegations, asserting that this escalation by India could ignite further regional tensions.
