Civil defence mock drills simulating air strikes and blackouts were held across 18 districts in Gujarat, aiming to enhance public awareness about emergency preparedness, officials said.

The drills were organised in response to Ministry of Home Affairs directives after the Pahalgam terror attack. Exercises involved scenarios like air strikes and fires at critical sites such as the Vatva industrial area and Sardar Sarovar Dam.

The statewide initiative, monitored by Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi, saw participation from 10,000 civil defence volunteers, ensuring coordinated efforts in raising emergency response awareness.
