Justice Served in Pollachi Case: Historic Verdict

In a landmark ruling, the Coimbatore Mahila Court sentenced nine men to life imprisonment for the heinous crimes of sexual assault and extortion in the infamous Pollachi case. This verdict, praised by both Chief Minister M K Stalin and the opposition AIADMK, also includes an Rs 85 lakh compensation to the victims.

The verdict has triggered a political stir, with AIADMK members recalling that the case was transferred to the CBI for an impartial investigation under the previous government.
