The judicial custody of popular social media influencer Jyoti Malhotra has been extended for another 14 days following her arrest on espionage charges. Malhotra, known for her YouTube channel 'Travel with JO', is accused of being in contact with Pakistani Intelligence Operatives, according to the Hisar Police.

The recent extension in custody comes after her regular bail plea was rejected by the court, citing the ongoing investigation. Despite police claims, there has been no evidence to suggest that Malhotra accessed military or defense-related information. However, the authorities argue she remains a person of interest in the case.

Malhotra, 33, made a virtual appearance in court as her lawyer, Kumar Mukesh, confirmed the new hearing date set for July 7. She was initially detained on May 16, accused of breaching the Official Secrets Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police investigations indicate she was allegedly in contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim, also known as Danish, a Pakistani staffer expelled by India on charges of espionage.
