Tragic Electrocution at Delhi Construction Site Highlights Safety Lapses

A 24-year-old labourer named Shivam died from electrocution while working at a construction site in Jaitpur, southeast Delhi, an official confirmed on Tuesday.
Shivam, hailing from Nagla Khemkaran in Uttar Pradesh, was employed as a wiring labourer at an under-construction building in Jaitpur Extension Part-2. The mishap occurred around 3:30 PM on Monday, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Hemant Tiwari.
Upon receiving a PCR call reporting the incident, police arrived at G Block in Jaitpur and found Shivam unconscious. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead. Initial inquiries suggest inadequate safety measures led to the electrocution. Authorities are pursuing the construction site's owner and contractor, who remain at large.
