A 70-year-old man named Rajendra Prasad has been apprehended for allegedly running a professional bail surety operation, targeting criminals in Bhadohi, Prayagraj, and Varanasi.

Police claim Prasad, who hails from Daropur in City Kotwali, applied recently to stand surety for a serious offender, Shamim Ansari, in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Ashok Kumar Mishra. However, investigations showed Prasad had financially benefited by posting bail for over ten serious offenders.

As this became his 11th such activity, authorities filed a report with the court, prompting a case against him for cheating under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. Ongoing investigations aim to unravel the full scope of his operations.
