Yasin Bhatkal, recognized as a co-founder of the notorious Indian Mujahideen terror group, was presented through video conferencing before a court on Thursday. This marks the resumption of his trial for a 2008 case registered in Ullal, involving a major terror plot aimed at various locations across India.

The earlier arrest of seven associates in Mukkacheri and Chembugudde under the Ullal police jurisdiction uncovered explosives and bomb-making materials. While the other accused were sentenced in 2017, Bhatkal's trial was on hold due to his absconding status.

With Bhatkal now in Tihar Jail for separate crimes, coordination between Ullal Police and jail authorities enabled his virtual court appearance. The court has set the next hearing for August 20, as Bhatkal continues to serve multiple sentences in high-security prisons.
