A shocking incident unfolded in Odisha's Kendrapara district as a young woman was arrested for allegedly trying to murder her lover. The 26-year-old, identified as Kumari Laxmipriya Acharya, reportedly attacked her 35-year-old partner, Satyajit Sarangi, by slitting his throat.
Police reported that the two were romantically involved after Sarangi's wife, who was also the cousin of the accused, passed away last year. Tensions escalated when Sarangi opposed the accused's relationship with another man at her workplace, leading to an alleged murder conspiracy.
The dramatic episode took place near Hazari Bridge, and passersby rushed Sarangi to the hospital. He was later transferred to SCB Medical College in critical condition. The accused has been charged with attempted murder and remains in judicial custody.
