A man posing as a Hindu priest in Dadri, identified as Qasim, was exposed and jailed for misleading locals over the past year, according to police sources.

The suspect, originally from Koili Raipur village in Bihar, had assumed the identity of 'Krishna, son of Santarpal,' conducting religious rituals at a Shiva temple in Dadri. Villagers uncovered the deception when they allegedly caught him taking money from the temple's donation box.

Upon interrogation, Qasim was unable to provide valid identification, leading police to discover his previous stay at a Kali temple. There, authorities recovered religious texts and a mobile phone. Subsequently, he was charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for identity fraud and offending religious sentiments before being sent to jail.
