In a decisive overnight operation, Pakistani security forces neutralized three suspected militants accused of masterminding last year's attack on Chinese nationals in Karachi. The raid reportedly eliminated the attack's alleged orchestrator, Zafran, a member of the Pakistani Taliban, also known as Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan.
China has urged Pakistan to enhance security for its nationals involved in Belt and Road Initiative projects. Recently, TTP and the Balochistan Liberation Army have increasingly targeted Chinese workers in the region, fueling Beijing's concerns. Pakistan has vowed to improve protective measures for Chinese citizens.
Additionally, violence erupted in Tirah Valley, resulting in seven deaths when residents gathered outside a military camp, protesting for justice after a child's death in a mortar attack. Officials suspect TTP involvement in sowing discord between the locals and security forces, prompting a governmental investigation.
