India's New Normal: Redefining the Battle Against Cross-Border Terrorism

India's firm response to the Pahalgam attack has established a 'new normal' in combatting cross-border terrorism. In the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, India's military strategy against Pakistan has signaled a 'new normal' in the fight against cross-border terrorism. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar detailed in the Lok Sabha that India's response included a firm stance on counter-terrorism and the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.

Jaishankar emphasized that terrorists would no longer be treated as proxies and that cross-border terrorism would face apt retaliation. He also highlighted the importance of not yielding to nuclear blackmail and the necessity of severing ties between terror and diplomatic talks.

In a strong message to international players, Jaishankar clarified that the US played no direct role in resolving the India-Pakistan conflict. The minister also credited India's diplomatic force for the US recognizing the TRF as a global terrorist organization.
