Russia launched deadly overnight strikes on a penitentiary in Zaporizhzhia, southeastern Ukraine, causing tragic loss of life and extensive damage, authorities confirmed on Tuesday.
Regional Ukrainian military reported that 16 individuals were killed and at least 35 injured in the attack.
Ivan Fedorov, the governor, noted via Telegram that the penitentiary's buildings were destroyed, and adjacent private homes were also impacted.
