A police constable from Haryana has been arrested following the alleged murder of his live-in partner, Sangeeta, in a rented apartment in Sohna. The police reported that the accused, identified as Ravindra from Mahendergarh district, admitted to the crime during interrogation.
Ravindra revealed that the fatal incident stemmed from a heated argument after Sangeeta returned from meeting with other individuals. He confessed to strangling her with a towel on July 24. The victim was previously married to an Army man who passed away two years prior and had been living with Ravindra since.
Soon after committing the crime, Ravindra absconded to Madhya Pradesh and later Jaipur, but was captured by the Sohna Crime Unit on a subsequent Thursday. An FIR was filed at City Sohna police station after Sangeeta's brother, Narendra, lodged a complaint.
