Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has strongly condemned the alleged poisoning of drinking water at a government school in Hulikatti village, Belagavi district. The act, reportedly aiming to force the transfer of a Muslim headmaster, led to the arrest of three individuals, including a right-wing group leader.
Labeling the poisoning as a 'heinous act' fueled by religious hatred, Siddaramaiah stated that the incident posed a grave threat to communal harmony. He emphasized the need for self-reflection among those spreading hate for political gains and praised law enforcement's swift response.
The Chief Minister called for public cooperation in resisting extremist elements and urged the judicial system to deliver justice. The incident, meant to incite communal tensions, left several children ill but thankfully without casualties.
