Gadkari Promises Swift Clearances in New Mining Policy

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced a new mining policy aimed at streamlining clearances to boost productivity in India. Clearances are to be issued within three months to expedite extraction processes. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari revealed on Sunday that the Central Government is crafting a new mining policy designed to facilitate ease of business operations. Speaking in Nagpur, he announced that all necessary clearances for mining will be expedited and granted within three months, ensuring extraction can commence by the fourth month.

The Minister emphasized that the new policy aims to eliminate existing bottlenecks, thereby accelerating the mining process. Gadkari explained further developments in the Gadchiroli district, Vidarbha, in mining and steel sectors. He shared insights into cabinet discussions, noting suggestions made to the Prime Minister regarding environmental clearances, asserting they should be issued within a month.

Gadkari spoke on the necessity of creating employment opportunities through this policy, recalling perspectives from Mahatma Gandhi and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on maximizing production with maximal public involvement. He highlighted the policy's potential to stimulate both economic growth and employment in the Vidarbha region.
