Salamat Ali Ansari, facing grave charges of raping and murdering a 6-year-old girl, made a daring escape from Bhiwandi court premises on Monday. The incident has sparked a massive manhunt as law enforcement agencies scramble to apprehend the fugitive.

Accused of committing the heinous crime in 2023, Ansari was apprehended from Bihar in September of the same year. His alleged acts involved raping the minor and concealing her body in a bucket, which was discovered in a locked room, raising alarm bells across the region.

In a statement, Assistant Commissioner of Police Sachin Sangle assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to bring Ansari back into custody. The charges against him include violations under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, highlighting the severity of the case.
