Maratha activist Manoj Jarange has announced plans for a renewed protest in Mumbai starting on August 29, advocating for reservation rights for the Maratha community under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category.

Jarange, alongside other Maratha community members, will depart from his village in Jalna district on August 27, journeying over 400 km to Mumbai. The activist has repeatedly undertaken hunger strikes, urging authorities to recognize the Marathas as Kunbis, supported by various historical records.

Addressing reporters, Jarange detailed the protest route, which includes key stops in Maharashtra. The movement will culminate in a demonstration at Mumbai's Azad Maidan, with a call for widespread participation from the Maratha community, emphasizing electoral consequences for non-participating Maratha leaders.
