In a significant escalation of hostilities, a Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian region of Saratov resulted in one death and damage to residential and industrial areas, as confirmed by the regional governor on Sunday.
Governor Roman Busargin reported on Telegram that debris from a destroyed drone damaged three apartments, necessitating the evacuation of residents and medical assistance for several individuals. The attack also led to the hospitalization of one person and the unfortunate death of another, amidst widespread damage.
The Russian defense ministry stated that their aerial defense units managed to take down 121 Ukrainian drones overnight, including eight in the Saratov region alone. Meanwhile, social media footage revealed black smoke emerging from an industrial zone, suspected to be an oil refinery, though official verification remains pending.
