A fire incident in Arunachal Pradesh's Tirap district resulted in extensive damage as seven houses were completely gutted and two others were partially affected, according to an official report released on Sunday.
The fire ignited near midnight on Saturday in the village of Lazu. Troops from the Assam Rifles stationed nearby were the first responders, quickly evacuating residents and deploying firefighting equipment to contain the blaze, preventing loss of life. They managed to stop the fire from spreading further, authorities confirmed.
Villagers have voiced their heartfelt thanks to the Assam Rifles, recognizing their swift and effective action which aligns with the unit's dedication to the region, often referred to as the 'Friends of the Northeast'.
