The Haryana government has unveiled plans to establish a cutting-edge training institute dedicated to revenue officials. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize agricultural data management, streamline land records, and boost census operations in the state.
During a meeting with state deputy commissioners, Financial Commissioner Revenue Sumita Misra detailed the proposal for the 'Haryana Revenue Training Institute,' which will span approximately 20 acres. The center aims to prioritize the training and capacity building of revenue officials. Additionally, the state is prepared to launch Agristack-based crop surveys and farmer registries in the forthcoming agricultural season.
Misra also announced significant preparations for the 2027 Census. A pilot census is set to begin in October-November 2025 in Panchkula, Hisar, and Faridabad, with extensive house listing and population enumeration operations to follow. Local city magistrates and deputy commissioners will co-ordinate these efforts as nodal and principal census officers, respectively.
