Haryana Chief Electoral Officer A Sreenivas chaired a critical meeting on Tuesday focused on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, urging political parties to appoint booth level agents (BLAs) by September 30.

Necessary for ensuring error-free electoral rolls, BLAs act as vital links between voters and booth level officers (BLOs). With 23 years since the last intensive revision, Sreenivas highlighted this step's importance, urging all political parties to authorize officials responsible for BLA appointments.

The revision, also occurring in Bihar amid opposition protests and a Supreme Court decision, is pivotal for aligning current voter data with the 2002 rolls, ensuring updated accuracy for the upcoming polls.
