Fake Policemen's Downfall: Duo Nabbed in Mumbai

Two men impersonating policemen, involved in extorting money from unsuspecting individuals, have been arrested in Mumbai. Identified as Jahed Javed Ali Jafri and Kabul Naushad Ali, they operated in Maharashtra and Gujarat. They intimidated victims with threats of false charges to illicitly obtain money and valuables.

Mumbai police have apprehended two men who posed as law enforcement officers to defraud unsuspecting citizens. An official confirmed their capture on Thursday, highlighting the duo's cunning ruse that spanned Maharashtra and Gujarat.

The suspects, Jahed Javed Ali Jafri, 42, and Kabul Naushad Ali, 58, were cornered after credible information led authorities to Charkop. They routinely disguised themselves as police personnel, leveraging this facade to extort money and valuables from their victims.

A fake identity card of the Delhi Police and a gold chain worth around Rs 2 lakh were seized during their arrest. Their criminal activities have left a trail of 25 registered cases of fraud and theft, painting a broader picture of their operations in Mumbai and parts of Gujarat.
