A newly released report by the Delhi government shows a rise in female labor participation. Despite this progress, gender wage disparities continue to persist in the national capital.

According to the Delhi State Framework Indicator report on sustainable development goals, the ratio of female to male labor force participation climbed from 0.19 in 2017-18 to 0.28 in 2023-24.

While the female labor force rate improved from 11.2% in 2017-18 to 14.5% in 2023-24, the report highlights a persistent wage gap. In the July-September quarter of 2023-24, women earned Rs 500 compared to Rs 548 for men. The April-June figures showed a similar disparity, with men earning Rs 556 and women Rs 500.
