The Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) has issued a public appeal for photographs and videos connected to the September 24 violence that resulted in four deaths and injured many others, emphasizing the importance of this material in aiding the current investigation and seeking justice.

A recent announcement by the Centre addressed a major demand of the LBA and Kargil Democratic Alliance by instituting a judicial inquiry overseen by a retired Supreme Court judge. This investigation is set to examine the events that led to the breakdown of law and order, police actions, and subsequent fatalities, including that of a Kargil war veteran.

The association also called upon the community to mark upcoming weddings without traditional music as a show of respect and solidarity with the victims. Meanwhile, discussions between LAB, KDA, and the Ministry of Home Affairs are expected to proceed in an effort to resolve longstanding disputes.
