In Kalyan's Mohone area, a disagreement over a firecracker stall late Wednesday night quickly escalated into a violent confrontation, leaving several individuals injured and property damaged. Police officials report that the incident started with an argument that spiraled out of control in Lahuji Nagar.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Kalyanji Gethe, the conflict began as a minor altercation between the stall owner and individuals setting off firecrackers nearby. It quickly intensified, resulting in both groups lodging cross-FIRs at Khadakpada police station, leading to several detentions.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the situation worsened even in the presence of law enforcement, though ACP Gethe stated that police promptly restored order. Sandhya Sathe, an NCP worker, alleged that 60-70 intoxicated men armed with weapons attacked the area, targeting both people and police.
