President Tayyip Erdogan has announced ongoing discussions with Qatar and Oman as part of Turkey's strategic bid to acquire Eurofighter Typhoon jets. These negotiations were highlighted during Erdogan's regional tour to the Gulf, emphasizing Turkey's focus on bolstering its Air Force.

According to sources, Turkey is close to agreeing on a deal with Britain for immediate delivery of 12 lightly used Typhoons from Qatar and Oman. Erdogan confirmed that these talks, enriched with technical details, are heading in a positive direction.

The procurement plan includes engaging with European allies and the U.S. for additional fighter jets, namely F-16s and F-35s. Erdogan expressed his intent to expedite the process, stating that strengthening Turkey's Air Force is a strategic priority.
