In a significant breakthrough, Delhi Police have arrested two suspected ISIS operatives, disrupting a potential terror attack in the city. The arrests were made in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh, with authorities seizing critical materials for explosives, including plastic bombs, Molotov cocktails, and a timer device.
Officials identified the detained individuals as Mohammad Adnan Khan, 19, from Delhi, and Adnan Khan, 20, from Bhopal. Both allegedly aimed to execute attacks in crowded venues such as a South Delhi mall and a public park. The police recovered explosive manuals and ISIS propaganda during searches at their locations.
The investigation revealed the suspects' connections to a Syria-based ISIS handler and their active role in spreading extremist content online. This operation prevented a major terror incident in the bustling capital during the festive season, highlighting ongoing efforts to thwart radical activities.
