Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud has leveled serious allegations against the ruling party, accusing it of manipulating the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to exclude non-BJP votes. He criticized the process for allegedly targeting opposition voters, a practice he deems undemocratic.

Goud's comments come as Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar announced that phase two of the roll revision will take place from November to February across 12 states and Union Territories. The move has raised concerns over the integrity of the electoral rolls amid accusations of bias.

The states and Union Territories involved in the upcoming phase include the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. Ensuring fair and impartial voter registration remains in sharp focus.
