In a bold stance, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sushma Andhare dismissed concerns over a Rs 50 crore defamation notice from former BJP MP Ranjit Naik Nimbalkar. The notice alleges that Andhare's comments, linked to a sensitive suicide case and allegations of harassment in the sugar industry, were defamatory.
Andhare had raised significant questions surrounding the alleged suicide of a woman doctor in Satara, linking the incident to Nimbalkar through connections to the hotel where she died. In addition, accusations of harassment and legal manipulation involving local sugarcane cutters have surfaced against him.
Nimbalkar's legal action demands that Andhare retract her statements and issue a public apology. However, Andhare remains steadfast in her resolve to pursue the matter, challenging the conduct of both Nimbalkar and Maharashtra's political figures, including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Maharashtra Women's Commission chairperson Rupali Chakankar.
