The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a revision in the formats of disability certificates used by candidates in government job recruitment examinations. This change is part of an effort to comply with recent guidelines issued by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) from October 16, 2024.
According to the new directives from the DEPwD, disability certificates will be categorized as 'Form V - Certificate of Disability (for single disability)' and 'Form VI – Certificate of Disability (for multiple disabilities)'. These will replace the previous three forms that were employed by the commission in earlier notifications.
The commission has clarified that for all job recruitment examinations where notices were issued after October 16, 2024, and the process has not yet concluded, candidates are permitted to submit their disability certificates in either the revised new formats or the older ones.
