In an unprecedented move to assist ex-servicemen in transitioning to civilian employment, the Ministry of Defence will organize a job fair at Satwari cantonment on December 5. This fair, a venture of the Directorate General Resettlement in the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, aims to link former military personnel with leading industry employers.
The initiative underscores a commitment to ex-servicemen's resettlement and welfare, acknowledging their valuable skills such as discipline, leadership, and technical prowess, highly sought in the civilian sector. The DGR plans 18 job fairs across India in FY 2025-26, with nine already held in key cities such as Delhi, Chennai, and Lucknow.
The job fair provides former soldiers the chance to present their skills to recruiters who value their unique contributions. Employers, in turn, can access a pool of skilled professionals and conduct interviews with pre-selected candidates at the event, enhancing the hiring process.
