'No market' for Japanese aquatic products in China, says foreign ministry

Even if Japanese aquatic products were exported to China, there would be "no market" for them, China's foreign ministry said on Wednesday, citing the "anger" of Chinese nationals at recent comments from the Japanese prime minister on Taiwan.
Tensions flared after Sanae Takaichi said in parliament this month that a Chinese attack on Taiwan threatening Japan's survival could trigger a military response. Earlier in the day, China had told Japan that it would ban all imports of Japanese seafood, media outlets reported.
Given the current situation, there would not be any market for Japanese seafood here, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular news conference.
