In a landmark achievement, Lakshadweep has become the first Union territory in India to achieve full distribution and digitisation of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration forms. The Election Commission revealed this on Friday, highlighting the efforts of local officials.

Commencing on November 4, 2025, as per an Election Commission order from October 27, a dedicated team of 55 Booth Level Officers conducted house-to-house visits. They distributed and assisted in the completion of forms across the territory's ten islands, supported by 133 Booth Level Agents from various political parties.

Additionally, special camps were organized across the islands to expedite the completion and digitisation of these forms, according to a statement by Electoral Registration Officer Shivam Chandra, IAS. With the process concluded on November 28, the draft electoral roll is set to be unveiled on December 9, 2025.
